The Lingen District Court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of seven district courts in the district of the Osnabrück District Court .

The seat of the court is Lingen (Ems) in Lower Saxony . The court is housed in the Palais Danckelmann , built in the 1640s . The district court of Osnabrück is superordinate to the district court of Lingen . The competent higher regional court is the higher regional court in Oldenburg .

history

After the revolution of 1848 was the Kingdom of Hanover , the jurisdiction of the administration separated and the patrimonial abolished. The district court was then founded with the ordinance of August 7, 1852 regarding the formation of the district courts and lower administrative authorities as a royal Hanover district court. It included the office of Lingen and the city of Lingen. The district court was subordinate to the higher court of Meppen . With the annexation of Hanover by Prussia , it became a Prussian district court in the province of Hanover .

With effect from December 1, 1971, the District Court of Freren was dissolved in accordance with the law of the Lower Saxony State Parliament from 1966. The district court district came to the district court of Lingen.
