The Bad Iburg District Court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of seven district courts in the district of the Osnabrück District Court . Eight judges and nine judicial officers work for him. A total of 51 members of the judiciary are employed.

The rooms of the district court are located in the monastery wing of the double complex of castle and former Benedictine abbey Iburg, which Johann Conrad Schlaun built. The conference room for criminal matters is the former library of the monastery with stucco work by Josef Geitner.

Already in 1225 there was a Gogericht Iburg. After the revolution of 1848 was the Kingdom of Hanover , the jurisdiction of the administration separated and the patrimonial abolished. The district court was then founded with the ordinance of August 7, 1852 regarding the formation of the district courts and lower administrative authorities as a royal Hanover district court. It comprised the Office Iburg and Office Dissen zu Iburg. The district court was subordinate to the higher court of Osnabrück . With the annexation of Hanover by Prussia , it became a Prussian district court in the province of Hanover .
