Radio 1 (één) is a radio broadcaster of the public broadcaster Vlaamse Radio- en Televisieomroep (VRT) in the Flemish Community . The station is based in Schaerbeek / Schaarbeek near Brussels.

Radio 1 brings a mixture of informative and entertaining program and does not follow all chart hits. In addition to news, Radio 1 also broadcasts humor, tips and tricks. The music selection consists of many genres and areas, regions and styles.

The station is mainly financed through fees. The program, broadcast in Dutch, includes local, regional and international news, discussions, cultural news and consumer information. In addition to Belgian titles, the music selection also takes into account pop music from English and other European-speaking areas, as well as genres such as world music, blues, soul and pop music from the 1960s to 1990s. The program can be received in analogue terrestrial broadcasting via FM and medium wave and digitally via DAB in the western parts of the country ( Brussels , Ghent , Bruges , Leuven , Antwerp ) as well as in the border region of northern France ( Lille ) and in the south of the Netherlands. In addition, it is distributed worldwide as a live stream on the Internet.

According to the statistical survey of Golf 19 by the Belgian Centrum voor Informatie over de Media (CIM), the station reaches an average of 9.12% of the listeners, while the figure for prime time is 13.46%.
