Radio Arabella is the name of a group of regional radio stations in Germany ( Munich ) and Austria ( Vienna , Upper Austria and Lower Austria ). The operator in Germany is Radio Arabella Studiobetriebsgesellschaft mbH, which was founded on May 29, 1989. As a private broadcaster, Radio Arabella is financed exclusively through advertising income. The name "Radio Arabella" is based on the founding partner Josef Schörghuber , whose first name is Arabella.

history

Radio Arabella started on May 29, 1989 on FM 92.4. The frequency was split with “Jazzwelle Plus”, which broadcasted daily from 6pm to 10pm. In 1994 the transmission area was expanded to include the districts of Freising , Erding and Ebersberg and the program could be received around the clock on the FM frequencies 105.2 and 100.8 MHz.

Radio Arabella is currently broadcast on the FM frequencies 104.0 and 105.2 MHz. The program can also be received worldwide via a free web radio service. At the start in May 1989, the station played a hit and oldie format that has been further developed over the years and adapted to changing musical tastes. This mix of music is named after the radio makers as Radio Arabella format . The focus in the current music program is on classics and evergreens from the 1980s. In addition, more recent hits are occasionally played.

Event

In addition to the radio area, the station has its own events department. Over 70 activities and events with a wide variety of entertainment programs for listeners and customers are designed and carried out there every year.

Radio Arabella cult

On March 1, 2019, Radio Arabella Kult launched in the local Bavarian DAB + broadcasting areas of Munich, Nuremberg, Augsburg, Ingolstadt and Allgäu. On July 1, 2019, the Alpine foothills were added.
