Radio Monte Carlo Swiss was a Swiss radio station. From 2006 onwards, it broadcasted on the cable network throughout German-speaking Switzerland and on the Internet .
history
The station was operated by Music First Network AG , founded by Giuseppe Scaglione as managing director, and was a Swiss branch of the Italian broadcaster Radio Monte Carlo . Radio Monte Carlo Swiss was created to complement the youth station Radio 105 , which has also been operated by Music First Network AG since 1998 .
In 2014 Music First Network AG went bankrupt. Radio 105 was bought up together with its two sister programs by the Zurich broadcaster Radio 1 , but only wanted to continue operating the main broadcaster profitably. The operator himself defined his station as “premium and quality radio” for an older target group. Musically it concentrated on music of different styles, starting from pop music , whereby the emphasis was not placed on chart hits, through soul , blues and jazz to nu jazz , nu soul, chillout and lounge music . The program was supplemented by information broadcasts. On the other hand, there was no entertainment moderation.
