Radio Screen Show ( Rass ) is the name given to a procedure by the SWR , which has existed since 2007 , to distribute media content parallel to a radio signal via digital broadcasting channels. The focus is particularly on the visualization of radio content.

The Rass service is currently only broadcast via DVB-C and satellite in DVB-S mode and is a license-free development under the leadership of SWR. Rass is shown as a slideshow on the TV and transmits current information about the program or, for example, the CD cover of the current song, short messages or the like. In addition to this slideshow, which was occasionally used by WDR 1 Live , there is an interactive service that works in a similar way to teletext . A menu can optionally be called up and scrolled through. In interactive mode there are up to ten pages (including index) and, depending on the content, up to four sub-pages per page. As soon as this mode can be activated, a small blue breed symbol appears in the lower left corner of the TV. From this point on, the menu mode can be started with the help of the teletext button and controlled there with the number buttons or the arrow buttons.

distribution

Most recently (September 2013) these programs used RASS:

Before that, the programs Bayern 2 , BR-Klassik (both BR ) and 1 Live (WDR) were broadcast with Rass-Technologie.

As of 2016, RASS is no longer broadcast.
