Radomír Ištvan

Radomír Ištvan (born January 25, 1959 in Brno ) is a Czech composer and music teacher .

The son of the composer Miloslav Istvan had as a child piano - and later bass lessons at Alois Kříž . At the age of 15 he began studying composition at the Brno Conservatory , after which he continued his studies at the Janáček Music Academy with Alois Piňos . After serving in the army, he worked as a pianist at the Brno Conservatory from 1984, where he taught music theory and composition from 1989 and headed the music theory section from 1996. In addition, he was involved in musical youth work in Brno.

Ištvan has received prizes from the Ministry of Culture's competition for young Czech composers, competitions from the Janáček Music Academy and the Czech Music Fund.
