Radu Ștefăniță Boboc (born April 24, 1999 in Craiova ) is a Romanian football player who is under contract with the first division club FC Viitorul Constanța . The right full-back has been a Romanian U21 international since September 2018 .

Career

Born in Craiova , Radu Boboc began playing football in the Gică Popescu football school and in 2015 switched to the youth academy of the former world-class player Gheorghe Hagi . For the 2018/19 season he was promoted to his professional club FC Viitorul Constanța . On July 12, 2018, he made his debut in a 2-0 away win against RFC Union Luxembourg in qualifying for the UEFA Europa League for the first team, when he came on for Bradley de Nooijer in the 78th minute . This season the right full-back was regularly in the starting line-up of head coach Gheorghe Hagi and played a total of 22 league games. He rose to become the undisputed regular player in the following season 2019/20 . On October 27, 2019 (14th matchday), he scored his first goal for Viitorul in the 3-2 away defeat against Dinamo Bucharest .

National team

In March 2014 Radu Boboc ran twice for the Romanian U15 national team . He then played for the U16 three times from August 2014 to June 2015 . In October 2015, he played three international matches for the U17s . A year later he was in action three times for the Romania U18 . In November 2017 he completed three international matches for the U19s .

In September 2018 he played for the Romanian U21 team for the first time . With this national team he took part in the 2019 European Under-21 Championship . At the tournament he was in action in one game.
