The magazine bike split (proper spelling bike split ) is one of the largest German bike magazines. The publication, which is now in full color, was first published in Berlin in 1982. The publisher is the Berlin regional association of the General German Bicycle Club (ADFC). All members of the ADFC Berlin receive the booklet. It is also available nationwide by post and free of charge, for example in bicycle shops, libraries, cinemas, universities and colleges in Berlin and Brandenburg.

According to IVW , the magazine, which appears every two months, has a print run of 42,500 copies (as of the 2nd quarter of 2013). It was published in A5 format until the end of 2014, and in A4 format since issue 1/2015.

The cycling time is aimed at everyday and recreational cyclists. The spectrum of topics ranges from road safety and bicycle infrastructure to lifestyle and tourism .
