Rafael Casero

Rafael Casero Moreno (born October 9, 1976 in Valencia ) is a former Spanish cyclist .

Career

Rafael Casero began his career in 2000 with the French cycling team Festina . After two years he moved to Jazztel-Costa de Almería . Here he was able to celebrate his only international elite success so far in 2003, a stage win in the Tour of Valencia . He then went to the Spanish team Saunier Duval-Prodir . Between 2001 and 2005 he competed five times in the Vuelta a España. In 2006 Casero drove for the Spanish Professional Continental Team 3 Molinos Resort and ended his active cycling career at the end of the year.

In 2015, Rafael Casero and his brother Ángel , the winner of the Vuelta a España 2001 , tried again to revive the Tour of Valencia with the help of sponsor commitments. The race was entered in category 2.1 of the UCI Europe Tour 2016 for February 2016.
