Rafael García , full name Rafael García Casanova , (born January 6, 1989 or January 16, 1989 in Maldonado ) is a Uruguayan football player .

García first played in his hometown Maldonado in the so-called baby fútbol at Deportivo Maldonado . At the age of 16 he then joined the youth team Nacional Montevideos . The 1.83 meters tall defender actor that is also used both in defense as in midfield, was in the 2010/11 season as part of a lending business in Erstligakader of Rampla Juniors and completed 24 games in La Liga , where he was a Goal scored. In the following season he played for Nacional Montevideo , ran twice in the league and once in the Copa Libertadores and was Uruguayan champions with his team. He then switched to Fénix on loan . In the 2012/13 season he played 23 or 24 league games there, depending on the sources, and scored one goal. For the 2013/14 season he returned to Nacional Montevideo. In the 2013/14 season, he played eleven league games for the Bolsos (no goal) and played in five games of the 2014 Copa Libertadores . In the 2014/15 season he was used in 14 first division games (no goal). On December 21, 2014, he signed a contract with the Mexican club Monarcas Morelia coached by Alfredo Tena . The transfer terms of the one-year loan deal with an option to buy included a transfer fee of $ 550,000 and a 30 percent stake in Nacionals if Garcías moved in the future. For the Mexicans, he completed six games (no goal) in the Primera División and one (no goal) in the 2015 Copa Libertadores . At the beginning of July 2015 he returned to Nacional and was loaned out again in January 2016 without a competitive game. This time the receiving club was Defensa y Justicia from Argentina. He returned to Nacional Montevideo in early June 2016 without playing a competitive game for the Argentines.
