Rafael Medina (born October 8, 1979 in Guadalajara , Jalisco ) is a Mexican football player who acts in midfield .

Life

Medina played his first game in the Mexican Primera División for the Reboceros La Piedad on July 22, 2001 against his hometown club Chivas Guadalajara (1: 1), where he was then under contract between summer 2002 and December 2005. In the Clausura 2006 he made a half-yearly guest appearance at Santos Laguna before he returned to his hometown and was under contract with the Estudiantes Tecos for the next five and a half years .

At the end of 2011 he left Tecos and signed a contract for the 2012 Clausura with the second division club Tiburones Rojos Veracruz .

His first goal in the Primera División he scored on January 31, 2002 against Morelia , when he came on in the 73rd minute and scored a minute later. However, his team did not want to succeed more than the 1: 2 goal on that day. He received his only red card on November 28, 2004 in stoppage time of a Clásico Tapatío , in which Chivas failed in the quarterfinals of the Liguilla against his city rivals Atlas (3: 3) after the first leg was lost 0: 1.

His only appearance for the Mexican national team completed Medina on April 27, 2005 in a friendly against Poland, which ended 1-1.
