Rafrüti (meteorite)

The Rafrüti meteorite is the second largest meteorite that has been found in Switzerland to date .

The meteorite was found near Rafrüti in the canton of Bern in 1886 . It was the first meteorite find in Switzerland. The parts collected so far have a mass of approx. 18.2 kg and are mostly in the Natural History Museum in Bern .

It is an iron meteorite . It has the lowest iridium content of all iron meteorites known to date.
