The bank was founded in 1888 as the Gründelhardt Loan Association of 50 members. In 1980 the merger with Raiffeisenbank Oberspeltach eG followed. Raiffeisenbank Stimpfach eG was founded in 1892 and merged first with Sparda Rechenberg (1973) and then with Sparda Weipertshofen (1976). The Genossenschaftsbank Honhardt eG was founded in 1892 as the Honhardt Loan Association.
In 1991 the Raiffeisenbank Gründelhardt-Oberspeltach eG and the Raiffeisenbank Stimpfach eG merged. In 2000, the merger with Genossenschaftsbank Honhardt eG resulted in today's Raiffeisenbank Frankenhardt-Stimpfach eG. The Oberspeltach branch was closed on December 31, 2019.
