Raiffeisenbank Reute
Raiffeisenbank Reute was founded in 1898 by Pastor Kurz and Senior Teacher Merk along with other people under the name of “Spar- und Kreditkasse Reute”. Kurz was the chairman of the supervisory board, Merk was the loan calculator. The first board of directors consisted of Maucher, Stützle and Steinhauser, who came from Gaisbeuren, and Strudel from Reute.
At the general assembly on April 5, 1960, a decision was made to build a new bank building as the office in the Göser building was no longer sufficient. The bank building is inaugurated on April 1, 1962.
Raiffeisenbank Gaisbeuren
On December 20, 1908, at the invitation of the then mayor Anton Maucher, the bank “Sparkassenverein Gaisbeuren” was founded together with 36 citizens. The name then changed from savings and loan funds to Genossenschaftsbank and Raiffeisenbank. The first CEO of this bank was Anton Maucher.
Until 1965, business operations took place in the private home of the respective manager. 1964–1965 a building plot was purchased and the construction of an office and a warehouse began.
Merger of Raiffeisenbank Reute and Raiffeisenbank Gaisbeuren
A merger of the two Raiffeisen banks was proposed for the first time at the 1981 general meeting. However, this was refused. In the following year 1982 the merger did not find the necessary approval in the general assemblies either. It was not until the third attempt, at the general assembly in 1983, that the required majority could be achieved after lengthy negotiations.
Career at Raiffeisenbank Reute-Gaisbeuren
In 1986 the “Hirsch” inn in Reute was acquired and Reute's banking business will take place here in the future. From 1987 the agricultural goods business is taken over by BAG Bad Waldsee. The inauguration of the new bank building on Elisabeth-Achler-Strasse in Reute took place in 1990.
New opening of the bank building
The two previous branches in Reute and Gaisbeuren have been merged and the new bank building at Gaisbeurer Straße 42 in Bad Waldsee-Reute has been occupied since April 23, 2018.
