Raimund Grilc

Raimund Grilc (born August 27, 1950 ) is an Austrian high school professor and politician ( ÖVP ). He was a member of the state parliament from 1994 to 2009 and was mayor of Bleiburg .

education and profession

After primary school, Grilc attended a humanistic grammar school and, after graduating from high school, studied Italian and history as a teacher at the University of Vienna . Grilc completed his studies with the academic degree Mag. Phil. from. After completing his studies, Grilc taught at the BG / BRG Völkermarkt from January 1976 to July 1994 . In 1980 he was given the professional title of Professor .

politics

Grilc was a city councilor for the Bleiburg municipality from 1979 to 1985 and was elected vice mayor in 1985. In 1991 he was promoted to mayor. In the municipal council election in 2003, however, Grilc lost in the direct mayor election against the candidate of the SPÖ and had to vacate his mayor's chair. Within the party, Grilc has been parish party chairman in Bleiburg since January 11, 1991 and district party chairman in the Völkermarkt district since April 25, 1992 .

Grilc has represented the ÖVP in the Carinthian state parliament since April 19, 1994 and was chairman of the ÖVP state parliament club between March 21, 2004 and October 23, 2007. Grilc was chairman of the control committee and left the state parliament with the state elections in 2009 .

Private

Grilc is married and has two sons and a daughter. He lives in Bleiburg.
