Raimund Schirmeister

Raimund Schirmeister (born February 21, 1951 in St. Blasien ) is a German economist .

Life

Schirmeister studied mathematics, physics and economics at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg im Breisgau (1969 to 1975) and received his doctorate there in 1979. He later completed his habilitation there and in 1989 also received a Venia legendi for business administration from there .

He was university professor for business administration at the Universities of Augsburg (1990 to 1991), Cologne (1990 to 1992) and Essen (1992).

From the winter semester 1992/93 until his retirement in the summer semester 2016 he held the "Chair for Business Administration, especially Financing and Investment" at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf .

Since 1994 he has been a member of the audit committee for auditors at the Düsseldorf Chamber of Auditors.

From 2000 to 2002 he was dean of the economics faculty at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf.

From 2003 to 2007 he was Vice Rector for Planning and Finance at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf.

From its founding until mid-2016, he chaired the Scientific Advisory Board of the Düsseldorf Business School .
