Rainald Fischer

Rainald Fischer (* 1965 ) is a German doctor in Munich and President of the German Society for Mountain and Expedition Medicine .

Life

After studying medicine and taking a state examination at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , he has been working in the specialist field of lung and bronchial medicine at the Munich Medical Clinic since 1993. Fischer received his doctorate in 1995 with a thesis on the perioperative coping with malignant neoplasms of the female reproductive organs and the breast . 1998 Advanced training in Mountain Medicine ( UIAA ). In 2001 he took over the management of the cystic fibrosis outpatient department. After completing his training as a specialist in internal medicine in 2004 and pulmonology in 2005, he worked from 2008 to 2013 as a senior physician at the medical clinic downtown of the LMU Munich. Since 2013 he has been working as a resident doctor in Munich-Pasing.

Fischer was a founding member of the German Society for Mountain and Expedition Medicine (BExMed) and has been President of the Society since 2002. He is a member of the medical working group for cystic fibrosis and the federal board for cystic fibrosis e. V. In December 2014 he was appointed professor of the medical faculty at LMU Munich. The scientific focus is on sleep medicine, the therapy of cystic fibrosis patients and mountain and altitude medicine .
