AS Reiseveranstaltungs GmbH , operating under the brand name Rainbow Tours , was a German tour operator founded in 1981 with headquarters in Hamburg-Veddel , which, according to its own statements, was the market leader in the field of city trips and summer trips. The bus trips themselves were initially carried out by the bus operator Bruno Thies KG and since 2001 by Thies Bustouristik GmbH .
The AS Reiseveranstaltungs GmbH and Thies GmbH Bustouristik were in October 2011 to the Müritz Strelitzer travel company GmbH sold that to file for bankruptcy in December 2011 and was disbanded in April 2012 found.

The owner of the Rainbow Tours brand is André Schlatermund, who in turn granted AS Reiseveranstaltungs GmbH a right of use. The AS Reiseveranstaltungs GmbH was founded in 1981 by André also Schlatermund in Hamburg. The bus trips themselves were carried out by the bus company Bruno Thies KG , which André Schlatermund's grandfather founded and whose business was run by his mother. In 2001 Mathias D. Kampmann became managing partner of AS Reiseveranstaltungs GmbH and André Schlatermund left the company. In October 2011, the company's managing director, Mathias D. Kampmann, sold AS Reiseveranstaltungs GmbH and Thies Bustouristik GmbH to Müritz-Strelitzer Reiseunternehmen GmbH . The owner of Müritz-Strelitzer Reiseunternehmen GmbH was Jörg Grützner, who was involved in at least eight bankruptcies. The business of Thies Bustouristik GmbH was continued by Mathias D. Kampmann under the newly founded Thies Bustouristik GmbH & Co. KG .
In December 2011, Müritz-Strelitzer Reiseunternehmen GmbH filed for insolvency for this company and its subsidiaries, AS Reiseveranstaltungs GmbH and Thies Bustouristik GmbH . In March 2012, the insolvency administrator of Müritz-Strelitzer Reiseunternehmen GmbH reported the mass inadequacy . The companies were dissolved in April 2012.
Mathias D. Kampmann is being investigated on suspicion of delaying insolvency, tax evasion and fraud.

Rainbow Tours was a low-cost bus tour operator. The target group were mainly young people and students. The average age of the guests for city trips was between 25 and 45 years and for summer trips between 16 and 29 years. Every year around 150,000 young people travel with Rainbow Tours. The repetition rate among travelers was 88%.

Other brands used by AS Reiseveranstaltungs GmbH were abi -ready-Urlaub , abireisen 2.0 , Sunrise Jugendreisen and snowbility . The Sunrise youth travel brand was acquired by the tour operator ruf in October 2011 .
