Rainer-Olaf Schultze

Rainer-Olaf Schultze (* 1945 in Göttingen ) is a German political scientist.

Life

He studied political science, history and Romance studies at the Universities of Heidelberg and Harvard . From 1969 to 1970 and from 1973 to 1976 he was a lecturer , research assistant and academic employee at Heidelberg University. After receiving his doctorate in 1975 as Dr. phil. at the University of Heidelberg from 1976 to 1985 he was a research assistant in Bochum . After his habilitation in political science in 1984 at the Ruhr University in Bochum , he was professor of political science at the University of Augsburg from 1985 .

His research fields are comparative politics and political sociology of industrial democracies with a focus on: North America (USA, Canada) and Western Europe (Great Britain, Federal Republic of Germany), comparative federalism research (including the USA, Federal Republic of Germany, Canada and Australia), empirical election research, constitutional politics and political advice.
