Rainer Hirsch

Rainer Hirsch (born June 1948 in Wiesbaden ; † April 16, 2009 in Hanover ) was a German television journalist and most recently head of the ZDF studio in Lower Saxony.

After graduating from the Orange School , Hirsch's journalistic career began in 1974 while studying journalism and romance studies , when he was writing as a freelance journalist for newspapers and working for the ZDF regional studio in Hessen. From 1975 he was first presenter, editor and reporter for the turntable and later for the newscast today . From 1981 to 1988 he worked as a reporter and final editor of the heute-journal .

From 1989 Hirsch worked as a foreign correspondent: As head of the ZDF foreign office in Southwestern Europe in Paris , Hirsch reported from France, Spain and Portugal as well as the French overseas territories and francophone Africa from 1992 to 2000 . From January 2001 until his death he headed the ZDF state studio in Lower Saxony.

Rainer Hirsch, father of two children, died at the age of 60 after a long and serious illness at the Hannover Medical School and was buried on April 24, 2009 in his home town of Wiesbaden-Nordenstadt .
