Rainer Lutz (born April 23, 1961 in Füssen ) is a former German ice hockey player . He was a defender and played in the ice hockey Bundesliga for ESV Kaufbeuren , Düsseldorfer EG , SB Rosenheim and EC Hedos Munich , but also in the German national team .

career

Rainer Lutz comes from the offspring of ESV Kaufbeuren , but played his last junior year for SC Riessersee . At the age of 19, the young international succeeded in the 1979/80 season with his breakthrough at ESV Kaufbeuren and promotion to the 1st Bundesliga. He was always in the field of vision of the national team with which he played the 1983 World Cup in Germany. Like many talents from Bavaria, Rainer Lutz was drawn to the West. From the 1983/84 season he wore the jersey of the Düsseldorfer EG for four years . For the 1987/88 season he moved to SB Rosenheim , where he won the German championship in the second year. He also stayed in Rosenheim for four seasons before he moved to EC Hedos Munich . Here he celebrated another championship in the 1993/94 season . At the end of the year, the team was now called Maddogs Munich , the lights went out in Munich ice hockey. Lutz switched to SC Riessersee, his last stop.
