Rainer Oldendorf (born October 28, 1961 in Lüchow ) is a German experimental filmmaker .

life and work

Rainer Oldendorf studied from 1983 to 1990 with Franz Erhard Walther at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts . From 1992 to 1993 he completed postgraduate studies at the Institut des hautes études en arts plastiques in Paris. Oldendorf taught at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf , Merz Akademie , École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris , the Royal Danish Art Academy , Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design and at New York University . He lives and works in Paris, Lörrach and Besançon.

His work marco is a fictional cinematic portrait of a man named Paul, beginning in the 1970s. The location and circumstances of the film production itself are included in the plot. Since 1995 the narrative has been developed in episodes. Change locations and actors.
