Rainer Thiel (born March 26, 1949 ) is a former German soccer player and automobile manager.

Career

Rainer Thiel played soccer for SC Schwenningen and then for the Stuttgarter Kickers . For this, the defender completed 127 league games in the Regionalliga Süd and one season in the 2nd Bundesliga South . Since Thiel was disabled in sports, he ended his career prematurely.

Thiel's main job was for Daimler AG and its predecessor companies. For a long time he was head of the corporate strategy department there. In 2004, the automotive manager , who still lives in his hometown of Villingen-Schwenningen, was appointed Chief Executive Officer and President of DaimlerChrysler's Southeast Asia business.

Thiel has been a member of the executive committee of the Stuttgarter Kickers since November 26, 2018 .
