Sharkoushchyna district
The Sharkouschtschyna Raion ( Belarusian Шаркоўшчынскі раён ; Russian Шарковщинский район ) is an administrative unit in the west of the Vitebskaya Woblasz in Belarus . The administrative center is the urban-type settlement of Sharkoushchyna . The Rajon has an area of 1100 km² and includes 272 villages.
geography
Sharkouschtschyna Raion is located in the western part of Vitebsk Oblast. The neighboring ravines in Wizebskaja Woblasz are in the north-west Braslau , in the north-east Miory , in the south-east Hlybokaje and in the south-west Pastawy .
history
The Sharkouschtschyna Raion was formed on January 15, 1940, the administrative unit was dissolved in 1962 and restored in 1966.
