The Ralf Bohle GmbH is a German company based in Reichshof , the tires and inner tubes for bicycles and wheelchairs under the brand name Swallow and Impac and Trax produced. According to its own information, Schwalbe is the market leader in Europe. Around 3800 people are employed in joint ventures in Indonesia and Vietnam. 150 employees are employed in Germany at Ralf Bohle GmbH and 60 at subsidiaries.
history
In 1955 Ralf Bohle joined his father and uncle's company. In 1971 the distribution and import of bicycle parts that were produced in Asia started. In 1973 Bohle established a cooperation with the Korean tire manufacturer Hung-A and the first Schwalbe brand tires were dispatched for sale in Germany. In 1995 Ralf Bohle GmbH relocated its headquarters from Bergneustadt to Reichshof , Wehnrath , and moved into a more modern logistics center there. From there, the family company manages five subsidiaries in England, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Indonesia as well as all agencies around the world.

Schwalbe tires are completely produced in the Schwalbe plant in Jakarta , Indonesia . It is a joint venture with the Korean family company Hung-A. More than 14 million tires are manufactured annually.
Puncture protection
Schwalbe tires have had a built-in puncture protection insert since the 1990s. These are identified by a rating system from 1 to 7. Level 7 is advertised by Schwalbe as “flat-less”. Schwalbe has been offering an airless system since 2018, which is actually “flat-less”.
Sponsorship
Ralf Bohle GmbH is the main sponsor and namesake of the table tennis club TTC Schwalbe Bergneustadt , the Schwalbe Team Krefelder Kanu Klub (women) in the Triathlon Bundesliga and, since the 2010/11 season, has also been the main sponsor of the German handball division VfL Gummersbach .
In addition, Ralf Bohle GmbH owns the naming rights to the Schwalbe-Arena , a multi -purpose arena with a capacity of around 4,000 spectators , which was built in Gummersbach in 2012/13 and serves as the home ground for VfL Gummersbach.
