Ralf Eschelbach

Ralf Eschelbach (born April 10, 1958 in Filsen ) is a German lawyer and a judge at the Federal Court of Justice since 2010 .

Life

Eschelbach studied law at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and, after completing his legal training, worked there as a research assistant at a chair for civil law with a focus on foreign and international private law until 1987 . In early 1988 he joined the Rhineland-Palatinate judicial service . Here he was initially employed as a probationary judge at the Bad Kreuznach District Court and at the Bad Kreuznach Regional Court . In 1990 he received his doctorate in law on "German international check law" at his alma mater.

In 1993 he received a judge's position at the Bad Kreuznach Regional Court. From 1995 to 1999 he was seconded to the Federal Court of Justice as a research assistant , where he was assigned to the 1st Criminal Senate. A secondment as a research assistant to the Federal Constitutional Court followed until mid-2003 . During this time he mainly dealt with criminal matters. In July 1999 he was promoted to judge at the Higher Regional Court in Koblenz . From July 2003 he was a member of the 12th Civil Senate. In 2010 he was appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice and assigned to the 2nd criminal division.
