Ralf Kleinmann (born March 13, 1971 in Cologne ) is a former German football player .

career

Kleinmann comes from the youth division of the Cologne Crocodiles , from 1989 he was a member of the Cologne men's team in the Football Bundesliga . In addition to his missions for the Crocodiles (initially until 1999), the kicker was also under contract with Frankfurt Galaxy in the World League of American Football (later NFL Europe ), whose playing times did not fall on the same time as the Football Bundesliga. With Frankfurt Galaxy Kleinmann won the World Bowl in 1995, 1999 and 2003 , in 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2004 he was also in the final with the Hessians, but lost the World Bowl in these years.

In the Bundesliga he was with Cologne in 1990, 1991, 1993 and 1997 in the final of the German championship, but never managed to win the title. When Cologne became German champions in 2000, Kleinmann was in the service of the Düsseldorf Panthers . With the German national team, he finished second in the European Championship in 2000. In the 2002 season he was again a member of the Cologne Crocodiles, and in 2003 he joined the Rüsselsheim Razorbacks . In the summer of 2003 he took part in the pre-season of the NFL team Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was used in friendly matches, in August 2003 he was removed from the squad.

At the beginning of September 2004, Kleinmann announced his withdrawal from competitive sports. He worked for a sports goods wholesaler and got involved in the youth work of the Cologne Crocodiles.
