Ralf "Kora" Koring (born June 1, 1969 in Conneforde ) is a former German handball player and current handball trainer .

Career

player

Ralf Koring started playing handball at the SG VTB / Altjührden at the age of eight . In 1980 he became Lower Saxony champion with the E-Jugend. Here he played with the future German national player Jan Fegter , among others . Koring stayed with his hometown club until 1992 before he joined the Bundesliga club SG VfL / BHW Hameln . In the 1993/94 season Hameln was runner-up, Koring held the position of the circle. In 2000 Koring returned to Varel - the SG VTB / Altjührden was called HSG Varel from 2002 - where he ended his career in 2010.

Trainer

Koring was assistant coach under player-coach Arkadiusz "Arek" Błacha during his active time at SG VTB / Altjührden and HSG Varel . After the end of his active career, Koring took over the A-Jugend of HSG Varel for the 2010/11 season, who was playing in the regional league at the time. For the 2017/18 season he became assistant coach of the men's team at SG VTB / Altjührden alongside head coach Ivo Warnecke .

Private

Koring is a trained farmer. He retrained to become an industrial mechanic.
