Ralf Lehmann (born May 22, 1960 ) is a former German soccer player . The midfielder played for VfL Osnabrück in the 2nd Bundesliga , but had to end his career as a professional athlete at the age of 24 as a sports invalid.

Lehmann, who grew up in Berlin , played for SC Westend in 1901 , SC Staaken and Hertha Zehlendorf , where he was appointed to the first team. In the 1978/79 season he reached the Berlin amateur league championship with Zehlendorf, but just missed promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. However, he was discovered by Helmut Kalthoff , the then manager of VfL Osnabrück , who brought Lehmann to VfL in the 2nd Bundesliga. Already in his first professional season he was able to convince and scored seven goals in 33 games. By Berti Vogts , he was in May 1980 in the German U21 national appeal. On May 20, 1980 he made his debut in the game against Belgium and scored a goal in the 4-0 win of the German team. After a desired move to a Bundesliga team failed in 1983 due to a knee injury, Lehmann stayed with VfL, but could not prevent the team's relegation in the 1983/84 season despite his ten goals in 22 games. His persistent knee injury made it impossible to continue his professional career. For VfL Osnabrück he was used in 158 league games and scored 54 goals.
