Ralf Lienert (born August 20, 1963 in Kempten (Allgäu) ) is a German photographer , journalist and book author as well as editor-in-chief of the Allgäuer Zeitungsverlag (AZV). His main sphere of activity is his hometown Kempten and the Allgäu .

Ralf Lienert heads the picture editing department at Allgäuer Zeitungsverlag (AZV). He has followed life in the Allgäu with his camera for over 40 years. He comes from a long-established Allgäu family. At the age of ten he made his first sports recordings on the new ski flying hill in Oberstdorf. As a newspaper delivery man, he financed his first mechanical camera. In 1979 he accompanied the longtime photographer Erika Bachmann (also Allgäuer Zeitung), who trained him in newspaper photography. The first celebrity in front of the lens was the then Bavarian Prime Minister Franz Josef Strauss as a guest at the Allgäu Festival Week . After completing his photographic and commercial training, he did a traineeship and in 1991 he was appointed editor of the Allgäuer Zeitung.

The Team Abt Sportsline he accompanied in the DTM and Formula E . The old Robert Capa sentence applies to his reports for the passionate skier and cyclist: "If your pictures are not good enough, you weren't close enough."

Ralf Lienert worked on numerous books about Kempten and the Allgäu. His photos can be found on many covers of magazines from the AZV. The chronicler is a member of the Heimatverein Kempten, where he gives lectures and shows photo exhibitions on the history of the city of Kempten.
