Ralf Mutschelknauss

Ralf E. Mutschelknauss (born May 25, 1931 in Pforzheim ; † April 26, 2012 ) was a German periodontist.

Career

Mutschelknauss studied dentistry and medicine in Frankfurt, Lausanne and Munich, where he submitted his doctoral theses in 1954 and 1958. In 1963 he came to the dental clinic of the University of Münster , where Professor Eugen Wannenmacher set up his own periodontology department. After his habilitation in 1965, he took over the management of this department in 1967. In the early 1970s he left the university and opened a practice in Stuttgart.

After the death of Eugen Fröhlich , he took over the office of President of the German Working Group for Periodontology (Arpa). Under him, the association was dissolved in 1971 and re-established as the German Society for Periodontology , of which he remained president until 1974. In 1984/85 he was president of the scientific association of dentists "New Group" and later its honorary member.

He is the author of the textbook on clinical periodontics .
