Ralf Peter (soccer coach)

Ralf Peter (born September 10, 1961 in Rheine ) has been the national youth coach at the DFB since 2001 . The national teams he oversees have already won several European and world championships.

Life

Peter played at clubs in his home region: VfB Rheine , SG Eintracht Rheine and FC Epe . The top division in which he actively played was the amateur league . He studied sport and education and worked for two years as a teacher at a grammar school in Werne .

After acquiring his coaching license, he began as an honorary coach at the Football and Athletics Association of Westphalia (1991–1995), then moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach (1995–1999) as head coach for youth (1995–1999) and then became an association sports teacher at the Niederrhein Football Association (1999–2001 ). In parallel to his work as an association coach , he was in charge of the “Base West” for the women's senior national team for three years . Tina Theune-Meyer then brought him to the DFB.

Since August 1, 2001, he has been permanently employed by the DFB in the field of children and youth training. There he is primarily responsible for the U-17 and U-15 junior national teams . He also writes textbooks for the DFB and is involved in the production of educational films.
