The Rallier Channel ( French Chenal Rallier du Baty ) is a narrow channel west of the Kiev Peninsula on the Graham Coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . In the Wilhelm Archipelago , it separates the small Rallier Island from the western end of the considerably larger Booth Island in a northeast-southwest orientation .
They were discovered by participants in the Fourth French Antarctic Expedition (1903-1905) under the direction of polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot . Charcot named it based on the name of the island of the same name. It is named after the French polar explorer Raymond Rallier du Baty (1881–1978), a participant in Charcot's expedition.
