Ralph-Rainer Wuthenow

Ralph-Rainer Wuthenow (born February 24, 1928 in Rendsburg ; † April 3, 2013 in Seligenstadt ) was a German literary scholar .

Life

He was professor emeritus at the Institute for German Language and Literature II at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . Wuthenow was a comparator. In his work he dealt with German, English, French, Italian, Spanish and Japanese literature.

He was for his services in the promotion of cultural relations between Japan and Germany 3 November 2008 (the "Culture Day" in Japan) of Emperor Akihito awarded " Order of the Rising Sun , Gold Rays, with ribbon" (Jap. Kyokujitsu chûjushô) awarded.
