Ralph Backhaus
Ralph Backhaus (* 1950 ) is professor of civil law and legal history at the Philipps University of Marburg .
Backhaus studied and obtained his doctorate at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . After many activities as a judge at the regional court and higher regional court and as a research assistant at the Federal Constitutional Court , he came to Marburg for the winter semester 1996/97. From November 1997 to December 2007 he worked as a judge in a senate responsible for economic issues at the Frankfurt Higher Regional Court .
His work focuses on methodological problems in Roman legal history and current civil law in the areas of competition law , trademark law and cartel law .
