Ralph Bornhöft (born November 8, 1953 in Malmö ) is a German politician ( SPD ), civil servant and administrative lawyer .

Life

Born in Sweden, Bornhöft came to Hamburg in 1967 and attended schools there. In 1974 he graduated from high school and in 1975 began studying law at the University of Hamburg , which he completed in 1981. In the same year he passed the assessor exam . After completing his community service , he became personal assistant to the second mayor Helga Elstner in May 1983 . In 1984 he was taken on as a civil servant and from the following year worked as a legal officer (senior government councilor) in the Wandsbek district office. He was also the managing director of Der Fuhlsbüttler publishing house .

Bornhöft, who joined the SPD in 1972, was a member of the Fuhlsbüttel local committee from 1978 to 1982 and was a member of the district assembly in Hamburg-Nord from 1982 to 1986 . In 1985 he took over the chairmanship of the SPD district of Fuhlsbüttel. In September 1987 he became a successor member of the Hamburg citizenship ( 13th electoral period ), resigned on June 1, 1988 and moved up again on September 6, 1989.

Bornhöft works as a civil servant in the Hamburg Ministry of the Interior and Sports . He headed the residents' central office for twenty years. After controversial decisions regarding the deportation of foreigners, he was transferred to the Office for Internal Administration and Planning in 2012.
