Ralph Dupas (* 14. October 1935 in New Orleans , Louisiana , USA ; † 25. January 2008 ) was an American boxer in the light middleweight and WBA - and WBC world champion.

Career

In his professional debut, he boxed against Ray Smith only in a draw. Against Kid Centella, he had to accept his first bankruptcy in his eighth fight. On April 29, 1963, he triumphed over Denny Moyer and was thereby world champion of the associations WBC and WBA.

Just two months later, he defended these two titles against Moyer in a direct rematch. In November of the same year, however, the Italian Sandro Mazzinghi took the title from him by winning points. The rematch against the Italian, which also took place in the same year, was lost by Dupas due to a technical knockout in round 13.
