Raman Sjarhejewitsch Ramanau ( Belarusian Раман Сяргеевіч Раманаў , Russian Роман Сергеевич Романов ; born July 3, 1994 in Mazyr ) is a Belarusian cyclist who competes on track and road .

Athletic career

Raman Ramanau got into cycling because a cycling coach moved into his neighborhood. He saw him transport bicycles, helped carry them and finally wanted to drive himself.

In 2013 Ramanau won the bronze medal in the points race at the U23 European Championships , and another one in the scratch the following year . In 2015 he became the U23 European championship points race and together with Raman Zischkou , Jauhen Karaljok and Michail Schemetau won the bronze medal in the team pursuit . At the 2016 Elite European Championships , he won bronze in the points race. With the gold medal in scratch at the second run of the Track Cycling World Cup 2016/17 in Apeldoorn, he achieved the greatest success of his sporting career to date. In 2017 he became a two-time national champion, in two-man team driving (with Anton Mutsychkin ) and in team pursuit (with Mutsychkin, Jauheni Achramenka and Raman Zischkou).
