Ramelsloher are a breed of domestic chicken . They are a German breed that has existed since 1870 and originated in the village of Ramelsloh near Hamburg .
They were bred by crossing the four-country fowl with Spaniards , Andalusians, and Cochins .
The roosters reach a weight of 2.5 to 3 kg, the hens a weight of 2 to 2.5 kg. Their laying output is 170 eggs in the first year. There are two colors, white and yellow. The people of Ramelsloh have endangerment level Category I (extremely endangered) in the Red List of the Society for the Conservation of Old and Endangered Domestic Breeds .
