Randa Chahoud

Randa Chahoud (* 1975 in Berlin ) is a German director, writer, producer and camerawoman.

Life

She was born in Berlin in 1975 as the daughter of a Syrian and a Hamburg native. In 2006 she graduated as a director from the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb). During her studies, she worked as a director for various music clips and band portraits (including for the 17 Hippies and the French band Les Hurlements d'Léo ) and as a camerawoman for Britta Wauer , Birgit Grosskopf and Silvie Lazzarini, among others . In 2005 Randa Chahoud was a member of the jury for the Berlinale Peace Award . In the same year her script Cirkofolie, inspired by the French Nouveau Cirque, was nominated for the German Screenplay Prize. In 2005 she founded the film production “Cosmic Colleagues” with Dennis Jacobsen and Oliver Jahn . In 2007 Randa Chahoud was awarded a sponsorship prize at the German Television Prize for her directorial work on the science fiction series Ijon Tichy: Raumpilot, together with Dennis Jacobsen and Oliver Jahn .
