Randolf Peukert

Randolf Peukert (born March 21, 1929 in Reichenberg , Czechoslovakia , † February 18, 2009 in Halle (Saale) ) was a German pole vaulter .

Peukert began his sporting career in the late 1940s. In the pole vault discipline, he was twice GDR runner-up between 1953 and 1958 and took third place in 1957. In addition, on May 29, 1955 in Erfurt he set a GDR record with 4.28 m, which was also an all-German best. Peukert was trained by Karl-Heinz Balzer .

Initially, Peukert worked in Köthen as a sports and geography teacher, later in Halle as an employee of the SC Chemie , all-round trainer, as a guest trainer abroad and as an employee of the Scientific Center (WZ) of the German Association for Athletics (DVfL) of the GDR in Leipzig.

The gymnast Maxi Gnauck is a daughter of Peukert's sister .
