Randolph Hombach (born November 28,  1943 ) is a former German boxer . He was the German professional boxer champion.

Life

Hombach fought for the first time as a professional boxer in September 1969. As an undefeated challenger in ten fights, he secured the German super welterweight title (also called junior middleweight) in his hometown Offenbach in mid-November 1972 by defeating Rainer Müller .

In May 1973 the Offenbacher defended his super welterweight championship title in Wiesbaden , his opponent was Frank Reiche . Hombach won, but the victory was controversial. In the following month he suffered his first defeat when he lost to the Swiss Max Hebeisen in Basel  . In September 1973 he defeated Klaus-Peter Tombers in Hamburg by breaking off in the eleventh round after knocking his opponent to the ground three times. In the ninth round, Hombach had hit the boards even after a blow from his opponent. The fight was overshadowed by the death of Tombers' trainer Alwin Hühnke, who died of heart failure in the sixth round. For his last fight as a professional boxer, Hombach started in April 1975 when he lost to Frank Reiche by breaking off in the third round.

His twin brother Kurt  was also a German boxing champion. The Hombach brothers were coached by Walter Fischer.
