Johannes Bobeth

John Bobeth (* 4. March 1886 in Leipzig , † after 1945) was a German teacher who as a teacher in Löbau in Saxony worked. In May 1945 he was appointed mayor of Löbau for a short time.

Life

He was the son of Adalbert Bobeth from Königsberg in East Prussia and his wife Martha Sonntag and was born in the trade fair city of Leipzig in 1886. After attending school, Johannes Bobeth studied pedagogy at the University of Leipzig . There he received his doctorate in 1913 for Dr. phil. The topic of his dissertation was the philosophical transformation of the Pestalozzian theory by Niederer . He then worked as a teacher and later as a lecturer at the high school in Löbau.

After Löbau was occupied by Soviet troops, Johannes Bobeth was appointed mayor of the city of Löbau from May 11 to May 23, 1945 by the Soviet military commander. On May 14, 1945 he made a press appeal to the population of Löbau .

He lived in Löbau, Hartmannstrasse 9.

Johannes Boneth married Charlotte, née Türk, on April 12, 1916. The result of the marriage was the son Wolfgang Bobeth (1918–1996), who later became a textile technician and received the GDR National Prize, and the daughter Jutta (* 1919).
