Randy Boissonnault (born July 14, 1970 in Morinville , Alberta ) is a Canadian politician with the Liberal Party of Canada .

Life

Boissonnault studied at the University of Alberta and the University of Oxford . As a journalist and political commentator, he worked for Radio Canada and Les Affaires . In 2015 he was elected to the Canadian lower house as a member of the Canadian lower house . From 2015, Boissonnault was Parliamentary State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture under Minister Mélanie Joly . As an openly homosexual politician, he was appointed the contact person for LGBT issues in the Canadian government .

In the 2019 general election , he lost his constituency to James Cumming of the Conservative Party , so that he is no longer a member of Parliament.
