Range Murata (2008)

Renji "Range" Murata ( Japanese 村田 蓮 爾 , Murata Renji ; born October 2, 1968 in Osaka Prefecture ) is a Japanese illustrator and designer , known for his combination of Art Deco and Japanese anime elements. He achieved great fame through the conceptual design of the anime series Last Exile and Blue Submarine No.6 .

He began his career in the early 1990s designing video game productions.

He has published more than a dozen books, some of the most notable being rule , futurhythm , and editor-in-chief robot . In 2006 he also received the Seiun Prize in the category “Best Artist of the Year”.
