Ranji Trophy 1988/89
The Ranji Trophy 1988/89 was the 55th season of the national first-class cricket competition in India and took place from October 13, 1988 to March 28, 1989. In the final, Delhi was able to prevail against Bengal with one innings and 210 runs .
format
The teams played once in five groups against each other team in their group. The grouping was based on a regional basis. A team received 8 points for a win and 4 points for a tie (both teams achieve the same number of runs ). If no result is achieved and the game ends in a draw, the results after the first innings count . There are five points for a win, four points in the event of a tie and three points in the event of a loss. There are four bonus points for wins with one innings or with a lead of 10 wickets. There are also bonus points for batting and bowling.
