The Rankin Inlet Airport is an airport in Rankin Inlet , Nunavut ( Canada ). It is run by the Nunavut government.
Location and dates
The airport with a 46 m wide and 1,800 m long asphalt runway is located about 25 km southeast of Peter Lake on the northwestern edge of Hudson Bay directly on Nipissak Lake.

Incidents
- On January 8, 1957, an Avro York C.1 of Transair (Canada) ( aircraft registration CF-HIQ ) had to make an emergency landing on the banks of Hudson Bay 33 kilometers south of Rankin Inlet Airport ( Northwest Territories ). All three crew members of the cargo flight survived. The machine was a total write-off.
