Rannveig Haugen (born December 23, 1983 in Hamar , Norway ) is a former Norwegian handball player who was used both in the back room and in the circle .

Career

In the club

Haugen started playing handball in 1991 in her hometown at Storhamar Håndball . In summer 2003, she moved to the Norwegian first division club Gjøvik og Vardal HK . Since Haugen received little play due to shoulder problems, she asked for a contract termination in December 2004 and returned to Storhamar Håndball. With Storhamar she initially appeared in the second highest Norwegian league and rose in 2007 to the elite series.

For the 2008/09 season, Haugen moved to the Danish first division team Esbjerg , for which they ran two seasons. She then signed a contract with the German Bundesliga club HC Leipzig . With Leipzig she reached the semi-finals of the European Cup Winners' Cup in the 2011/12 season . In 2012 Haugen joined the Norwegian first division team Oppsal IF , where she ended her career a year later.

In selection teams

Haugen played 11 times for the Norwegian youth and junior national team. At the U-20 World Cup in 2003 , she won the bronze medal with Norway. She later belonged to the squad of the Norwegian national beach handball team. Haugen celebrated her greatest success in 2010 when she won the gold medal at the Beach Handball World Championship . She celebrated further successes at the Beach World Championship in 2012, at the Beach European Championship in 2013 and at the World Games 2013 , where she won the bronze medal.
