Oppsal IF

Oppsal Idrettsforening , short Oppsal IF or OIF , is a Norwegian sports club from Oslo . The date of foundation of the association is August 4, 1912.

Departments

Within the club there are departments for football , handball , ice hockey , orienteering , basketball , skiing and cricket .

Soccer

The men's soccer team was relegated from the third-rate PostNord-Ligaen to the fourth-rate Norsk Tipping-Ligaen in 2019 .

Handball

The women's handball team competes in the first-class elite series . The men's handball team won the national championship several times in the 1970s and 1980s (regular season 1971, 1972, 1973, 1976, 1978 and play-offs 1979, 1980, 1983), making it one of the most successful clubs in the country. In 1976 the men reached the semi- finals of the European Cup Winners' Cup after victories over FH Hafnarfjörður (Iceland) and Progrès HC Seraing (Belgium), where they only narrowly failed against eventual cup winner BM Granollers from Spain (13:15, 13:13).
